What do wedding photographers do on their weekends off? Second shoot, of course! I was so excited to get to be the "second" for a mentor and one of my favorite photographers, Jana Candler, last Saturday afternoon in downtown Greenville-especially on such a gorgeous Fall day with an equally gorgeous bride! Jana and I share a passion for photography and for being able to stay home with our children and she has always been an encourager to me in my business. With her permission, I thought it would be fun to show you Lyn and Clay's wedding from a different vantage point...to see the real deal, visit Jana's blog at www.janacandlerphoto.com/blog

Freckles and Dimples

If you had heard all the disclaimers and worries of their mom, you, too, would have been fighting back tears as you see all the adorable images we captured of these precious children! (don't they always make a liar out of us-never changes-universal!) Megan with her dimples, big brown eyes and curls galore and her big brother Isaac with his freckles and sweet disposition, and were two of the most cooperative children of their ages I've ever photographed! I couldn't wait to get home and see what I got-here are a tiny fraction of my favorites...you have to see the rest in their show! Thanks kids for being soooo cute!

Power at the Pole

"Where 2 or more are gathered"...today at our flagpoles across the nation, children, parents, and faculty of our schools gathered to ask God's guidance and blessing for our schools, the children, their parents, our teachers and faculty, our government officials, our troops over seas. We might not need church in our state, but we always need God ...everywhere.

"show me some love"

I was just visiting a new photographer friend's blog and noticed that at the bottom of each post was a place to "show me some love"-most of us call it "comments" but really it can be best described as she has-an expression of love-or appreciation, or anything positive that seeing an image of yourself, family member, or even a perfect stranger inspires.

So my challenge to my faithful readers today, in this world where we often wait to speak when we have a complaint to voice, is "show some love" to your blog spot favorites-it takes less time than it does to log into facebook! We want to hear from you...

I love working with seniors! They are fun and carefree and pose for you without complaint...and Becca was no exception! I love the way she changed expressions and poses without even my prompting...I think there's modeling potential!
Becca, I had a blast with you and your parents! I hope you LOVE your senior year!
Here are a few of my favorites...there were too many to chose...

This is Ansley. She is a button...super cute, very independent, and quite a ham! I don't think I could've captured more expressions of her! We ran around her grandmother's yard, her grandmother's neighbor's yard, the neighbor's precious playroom, and played in the fish pond! At the end of the afternoon, Ansley was done...and she wasn't alone! Here are a few sweet shots of her...

It's been quite a road for my friend Alissa-one that has led her to the International Mission Board, which affirmed her call to the foreign field and assigned her to serve the next few years in Uganda. So in January, the journey really begins! Alissa, God-speed. I am super excited to hear the many stories of how God is using you and blessing you along the way! Fall Sittings and Wedding Prices!

As I "get back to work" this September, I'm already getting bombarded with your calls and emails about Fall sittings! I am very appreciative of how you are spreading the word and inviting your friends to my site and blog! It's always fun to hear how each inquirer heard about Kim DeLoach Photography!

FYI-Fall is filling up fast-I have only a few spots left in October and November, so if you are planning to have a family portrait or Christmas card sitting, let's talk soon to get something firm on the calendar!

I also wanted to invite you to be creative if you are from outside the Greenville area and would like to avoid travel charges... you can call me to arrange a "day of sittings" for you and your friends. The person who takes the lead and creates the schedule for me will receive your choice of 1 of my "thank you" gifts with your sitting fee. There is a minimum of 4 sittings (6 outside of the SC area) to make a day-and a 50% nonrefundable deposit is due from each client prior to my travel.

Also, I am now booking sittings for the 2009 season! I am limiting space to 12 weddings next year. On Dec 1, 2008, my wedding package prices will increase, so tell all the brides you know to make their plans NOW to avoid the added charges!

Thanks for stopping by...there will be a few shows from the first week of Sept posted soon-so come back and visit again!

Start spreading the news....New York City was awesome! The trip was complete with a few of my favorite friends, fabulous food, crazy cab rides, and phenomenal photography opps! I can't believe we got in as much shopping and touring as we did-in only 3 days! When you see the show you might ask the same question my hubby did, "Where are your friends?" They aren't in many shots-they went to shop and play-not model!

Two of the key elements for good photos are Light and Lines...the city was full of both! I did my best to capture not only the "tourist" shots, but anything that caught my eye...Sometimes I was able to get it, sometimes I was too busy hanging on for dear life in my cab to get focused well!
I hope you enjoy the sites as I saw them!

Weekends offer romantic sax music on top of the Empire State Bldg.

I enjoyed playing with a little symmetry in the city!

I missed the ferry to Ellis Island, so I settled for getting
Ms Liberty from a distance.

Sat night was crystal clear from the top of the Empire State Building! I loved seeing all the lights!
The site of the World Trade Center 2010-rebuilding has begun!
I think there was someone representing each of these flags in the City last weekend!

Here we are-ready to say farewell to the Big Apple!

Enjoy the happy uptown sound of Harry Connick, Jr serenading us to "A Wink and a Smile."
The show ends with the most amazing site of the entire trip-the sunset God created between Washington DC and Greenville, SC on Sunday night-while storms were brewing below-His glory shone above!
